Fifth Annual General W. H. L. Wallace Memorial Weekend

Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th will be the fifth Annual General W. H. L. Wallace Memorial Weekend, entitled “La Salle County CIVIL WAR: A PATRIOTIC APPEAL!” will include several new events this year and a new encampment location at the FFA Land Lab in Seneca, IL.

Join us this year with General Sherman for military drill formations with weapons demonstrations, Officer’s action reports, period medical demonstrations, coopering and blacksmith demonstrations. There will also be period sutler shops.

Food vendors will provide food throughout the event as well as breakfast on Sunday morning. Indoor bathrooms are available for use.

Saturday evening will feature a movie “Shiloh: The Devil’s Own Day” – depicting the final days of General WHL Wallace’s life as well as an artillery night fire demonstration.

In addition to the Civil War encampment and battle, Sunday will include an early morning church service at for the soldiers with the public invited and a vintage base ball match with the Lemont Quarrymen.

27th Annual Civil War Weekend-Greenbush Wisconsin

This annual special event brings the history of the American Civil War to life. Held the last weekend in September, Civil War Weekend is two action-filled days of battle re-enactments, military drills, medical care situations, period music and food, demonstrations, and more. The weekend spectacle involves more than 500 re-enactors. And each year features a different historic scenario crucial to the outcome of the war.

Programs and activities abound for children and adults alike. Interact, explore and engage your entire family in the experience.

Lombard Civil War Reenactment

Fun for the entire family! This exciting reenactment is sponsored by the Lombard Historical Society and hosted by Stanford's Battery. Meet soldiers representing the North and the South. Witness skirmishes and battles. Talk to the cavalry. Listen (and even dance)  to Civil War era music. Learn about embalming techniques perfected during the Civil War. And much more!

The reenactment takes place at Four Seasons Park in Lombard - located between Main St. and Finley Rd. Parking is available at the Main Street entrance. Handicapped parking is available on the west side at Finley Road entrance. We request a $5 donation per person; proceeds benefit the Lombard Historical Society.

Watch as union and confederate forces collide in battle. A large scale battle can be viewed on both Saturday and Sunday. Visit the 1863 Summer Fair, meet President Lincoln and shop Civil War era vendors. Kids enjoy period crafts, games and a scavenger hunt.

Naper Settlement Civil War Days

Naper Settlement is transformed into a Civil War encampment where visitors can meet famous figures of the past and experience firsthand a turbulent time period in our nation’s history. Hundreds of reenactors participate, staging a battle complete with raging cannons and marching infantry. Learn how the nation changed through the insights of famous people who made a difference in history.

An annual tradition at Naper Settlement for over 25 years, the family-friendly event features food, fun and shopping on "Sutler's Row" for traditional Civil War-era reproduction products.
Time: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day
The battle takes place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Tickets
Day of Event:  $15/adult; $10/youth (4-12)

Advance tickets:  $13/adult; $8/youth (4-12)
On-line Ticket sales will be available April 1.

Hartford City Civil War Days

he 28th Annual Hartford City Civil War Days, May 12-14, 2017. Indiana's largest Civil War Reenactment and Artillery Night Firing. Step back to 1862 to see how the life was for our ancestors during this time. Converse with civilians, sutlers and soldiers of the time. This event is a reenactment and living history that portrays the time when this great nation was divided. Brother against brother, father against son and son against father. During this event you will be able to observe demonstrators and on going presentations covering the period of 1862. There will also be battles during the entire weekend portraying multiple engagements during the year of 1862. Visit the sutlers who sold their goods to soldiers and civilians alike. Walk through camps and converse with the presenters. You can also purchase both period and non-period food. Visit the blacksmiths, weavers, spinners, rug makers, refugees, the medicine show and much more! Most importantly do not forget to come out and see Indiana's Largest Artillery Night firing event! 3rd Annual Grant's Home Front & Reenactment

Civil War encampments are back in town. Swarms of 1860s blue and grey uniformed soldiers will blend into the historic skyline of Galena. Civilians in period-correct attire will grace the camp in living history fashion. The public is invited to watch the proceedings of camp life and witness the reenactment then relax and enjoy a classic Sanitary Fair.

-Sanitary Fair & Bazaar.

Carpentersville Civil War Reenactment

History Comes Alive!

Stanford’s Battery in partnership with the Village of Carpentersville will host it's first Civil War Reenactment August 6-7 from  10am-4pm in Carpenters Park  just minutes away from  I-90 and route 31 exit. 

Civil War reenactment units will be camping out at the park all weekend, and special events will run through out the day. Watch as troops march down Spring Street in a parade leading to the park, enjoy living history demonstrations, and much much more. The highlight of each afternoon will be a battle between Union and Confederate soldiers. A schedule of events will be posted May 2016 with additional details.

Join us for a safe and fun filled weekend! 

This event is being hosted by Stanford's Battery in partnership with the Village of Carpentersville. Featuring the music of the 1st Brigade Band.  Setup will take place on August 5th starting at 10am. 

Come and participate in two battles where there will be ground charges, fences and other obstacles for the troops to enjoy. In addition to the fun on the field there will be the usual amenities wood ,straw, water, and a Saturday evening meal.  Saturday evening will also feature a ball with a special performance by of the 1st Brigade at the school gym adjacent to the park. 

Stanford's Battery will be issuing packaged rifle cartridges , and caps to all rifle carrying troops. cavalry and artillery  units are by invitation ONLY  and FULL scale ONLY Cannons there is a bounty per gun. UNIT registration forms will be available by March 15th please contact us for additional details.
